Witty Verse was created using the Joomla content management system. Only a small amount of training was required on the Joomla system to get the client publishing.

A content management system allows publishing, editing and modifying of web site content through a webpage. While it will still require some work to learn how to use a CMS, it is much like learning to use a word processor. Training will be given in the use of the CMS.
Myles Web Design Dundee uses Joomla as its CMS. Joomla is one of the world’s most popular open source CMS (content management system).
WittyVerse.co.uk was created, and is edited using Joomla.
In the above example the user creates articles using a basic word processor found at wittyverse.co.uk/administrator. They can add text and images. The next step is to add a menu item for the article, the menus items can be seen on the left.

Comment box 1. This is bare bones so not really suitable for use.
Comment box 2. Protection against SQL injection attacks. Styles added to displayed comments. PHP code which adds data to the MySQL database has been put in a separate file.
Comment box 3. AJAX style comment box. The comments get added to the database and appear on the users screen without the page reloading, this is the technique used by Google and Facebook, and now Myles Web Design Dundee.

Simple XHTML site all writen by hand, this means no tables will be used for layout, as will probably be the case if your web designer uses a website editor. What is wrong with tables being used for layout?
